Snapshots of South Shropshire Requested, as Stuart Anderson MP's Photography Competition Launched

Stuart Anderson MP is inviting residents across South Shropshire to take part in his inaugural photography competition. It is aimed at capturing the area's outstanding natural beauty.

Winners will have their photos featured on the walls of Stuart's constituency office. Stuart has said it will provide "an inspirational workplace and welcoming environment" for visitors to his office.

It comes as travel trade organisation Abta names Shropshire one of the world's top 10 destinations to visit in 2024. Shropshire's historic towns, including Bridgnorth, Church Stretton, and Ludlow attract thousands of tourists each year.

Overall, Shropshire welcomes 10.5 million visitors a year, according to Shropshire Council. They collectively contribute over £650 million towards the county's economy.

With an office already open in Ludlow and an additional one shortly opening in Bridgnorth, Stuart is looking to decorate the office with the very best photos of the constituency.

So, he is inviting residents to submit their favourite photos of South Shropshire. The deadline to submit photos is Friday, 28th February 2025.

Once the deadline has passed, Stuart will nominate 10 photos that represent the best of South Shropshire - all of which will be featured in his office.

Residents will then be able to vote to select their favourite photo, and the winner of Stuart's photography competition will then be announced. Stuart is looking for photos that represent the beauty and variety of the constituency.

Stuart Anderson MP said:

"South Shropshire is a truly beautiful place. From our historic market towns to our picturesque villages and vast natural landscapes, the area offers a wonderful range of breathtaking views that stun millions of visitors each year. My inaugural photography competition aims to capture the breath and variety of this beauty - with the winning entries to be featured on the walls of my constituency office. This will showcase the very best of South Shropshire, providing an inspirational workplace and welcoming environment in which to greet visitors to our constituency for years to come."
