Stuart Anderson MP has launched a Small Business Directory for South Shropshire. It is designed to promote and support local enterprises in the area.
Stuart's Small Business Directory already features more than fifty businesses, from convenience stores to innovative start-ups and sole traders. This showcases the diversity and range of talent within the area's business community.
The directory is part of Stuart's ongoing efforts to support small businesses. South Shropshire is home to 5,785 small businesses. This represents 99.8% of all businesses in the area.
This list is compiled from responses to both to Stuart's Shop Local Surveys and his Small Business Survey. He is inviting local business that would like to be added, to contact him with their details.
Stuart hopes that the directory will be a valuable resource, helping residents shop local for the goods and services that they would like to buy.
The directory is being promoted through various channels including Stuart's social media channels. This will ensure maximum visibility for the listed businesses.
Stuart hopes that being listed in the directory will help local businesses reach a wider audience and attract new customers. The directory also aims to facilitate connections between businesses.
It is the latest stage in Stuart's long-term campaign to unleash rural prosperity in South Shropshire. As part of this, he has been encouraging small businesses to apply for financial assistance listed on his Business Support Finder.
The latest edition includes grants of up to £10,000 which are available on offer to landlords of properties within designated market town conservation areas that have been vacant for more than 12 months.
The funding is being made available through an extension to the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF), which Stuart secured. Created by the last government, it has seen more than £12 million has been allocated to Shropshire alone.
