Our aspiration is for everyone to feel connected to politics and their elected representatives.
UK Parliament Week:
Last year, almost 1.1 million people took part in over 10,000 activities in every region and nation of the UK, and countries all over the world.
For 2023, we invite you to join in with your community and explore how you can make a difference together.
I would like to see many more events taking place. I would be happy to support all community groups that are looking to organise events.
UK Parliament Week (UKPW) is a time to engage with the work of Parliament and your local representatives. If you sign up. you’ll get a kit that helps you get informed about your UK Parliament, take action, and make an impact on the issues you care about.
UK Parliament Week was celebrated in all sorts of ways. Here are a few ideas to get you started:
- online Q&A sessions, quizzes and lively debates
- creating petitions and campaigning for change
- making videos and posting online
- debating issues and holding votes
- themed assemblies and school council elections
- baking, crafting and colouring
- virtual chats with MPs, members of the House of Lords, local councillors or mayors, MLAs, MSs and MSPs
If you want to explore further or get started before your kit arrives check out the online resources here.
School Visits:
Every year, MPs welcome hundreds of schoolchildren to Parliament. I am always try to meet visitors from the constituency to talk about the work that I do as Wolverhampton's representative in Westminster. If you would like to book a tour of the Palace of Westminster, please contact my office. Tours can be booked for groups of 20 people and repeated tours from the same school are acceptable. Unfortunately, I cannot meet travel costs.
Youth groups are invited to visit UK Parliament's award-winning Education Centre at Westminster. Groups will enjoy a unique learning experience and get to see where history is made on a tour of the Houses of Parliament. The fun and interactive sessions are suitable for ages 7 to 18 and will be tailored to the age group. Young people will have the opportunity to learn more about how UK Parliament works and discover 1,000 years of history at the Palace of Westminster. These youth group visits are free. In addition, our travel subsidy scheme helps groups visiting UK Parliament from outside London and the South East with their travel costs.

*Please note that tours are very popular and places are limited so generally have to be booked about six months in advance.

- Researching an issue.
- Taking press-cuttings.
- Writing press releases.
